Full vegetable tanned leather made by Sanyo Co., Ltd., a historic tannery founded in 1911. After the Russo-Japanese War, the company produced leather shoes and belts for military use, and is a tannery with a reputation for quality.
Using tannins extracted from mimosa grown in North America, this leather is carefully tanned in a pit layer over a long period of time, making it firm, lightweight, and durable.
The finish is waxed, giving it a matte, uneven look that gives it a natural rugged look. As you continue to use it, it will become glossier and you will notice a noticeable change over time.
